It's very difficult for me to muster any sympathy for the man. But it's in the best interest of the public that he lives to see trial and judgement. Both to do justice for the survivors of his terrors, and for any information he can give that would enlighten further prosecution of any and all parties involved.

Plus there are worse things than death. And he'll likely experience many of them in prison as a known child abuser.

Why on earth is that desirable? If you wouldn't want to see a judge impose it explicitly, why are you ok with it being imposed implicitly?

Sending a child abuser to prison is effectively an explicit imposition of the unintended outcomes.

Unless they're in solitary. I'm not sure which would be worse, though.

Agreed. Solitary won't protect you from the guards though. But in either situation death would be preferable.

I think the point they were making was that if someone did a bunch of horrific things to this man in jail, most people wouldn’t feel bad for him. I know I wouldn’t. All of the evil he’s put into...

I know I wouldn’t. All of the evil he’s put into the world and the trauma he’s caused to dozens (if not hundreds) of people, has marked him as a special type of evil person that deserves no sympathy.

I feel like they're selling this suicide angle too hard. Someone wants him gone, this guy isn't committing suicide
