I'd like to see the West reply in kind. The Russian government are by no means the only ones who can play at arson, bombings and assassinations. If they already believe they're at war with the West, then the West should act like it.
If the Russian government actually brings down a civilian flight, they should expect all hell to be let loose, up to and including direct Western involvement in the form of air strikes. France has already mentioned the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine, and I'd like to see other countries get more involved now that Russia has brought in soldiers from Iran and North Korea.

For example giving the interest earned on frozen Russian assets to Ukraine as well as existing stocks of weaponry (and not argue that EU countries can't "afford" to give the weapons to Ukraine because they need them for their internal use – like the #1 threat is Russia; if the Ukrainians defeat the Russians then problem solved?)
If you have the moral high ground, then engaging in [moral shitflinging that makes you both look bad] hurts you more than them, because you have moral standing to lose.

I wish that would happen sooner rather than later. If not direct support, then a truly massive increase in equipment and monetary aid. If we won't do the work then we need to get serious about...
I wish that would happen sooner rather than later. If not direct support, then a truly massive increase in equipment and monetary aid. If we won't do the work then we need to get serious about giving them what they need. They're fighting Russia for all of us, paying for our peace in their blood. The Putin regime has to be dismantled one way or another, he's the greatest threat to the whole free world we've seen in our lifetime. Any talk that isn't in support of complete victory for the West is only serving him.

Currently Putin's interest in self-preservation prevents him from recklessly lobbing nukes around; certainly he won't restrain himself when he feels that there are credible threats to his life.

Refusing to respond to escalations doesn't exactly encourage the belligerent party to dial back hostilities.
You are absolutely correct, which is why Russia is committing so many war crimes. But that doesn't make my statement any less true.
