About time. I really thought he was going to try to run against PP in the upcoming election. I don't know if there is anyone suitable to replace him within the party but maybe we won't see a complete Conservative landslide now.
They have until October 20th at the latest to have the election though... maaaaybe that's enough time? IIRC Jagmeet said he was going to back the no-confidence vote when parliament sits again....

IIRC Jagmeet said he was going to back the no-confidence vote when parliament sits again. With this new news though, in the interest of blocking the Conservatives, he might want to put off the election until after a new Liberal leader is selected. This puts the NDP in a bit of a bind though.
I’d like to see a rightward shift from the NDP, and a minority government lead by the NDP and propped up by the liberals. Unfortunately what we are probably going to get is a majority Conservative...

If they had plans to do something, they'd be doing it. I think it's time for Justin and Jagmeet to both take a long walk in the snow. PeePee needs strong opposition with more conviction.

I haven't been following Canadian politics for a while, but when I was there last year, it seemed that the writing was on the wall for Trudeau. I'm not the biggest fan of the Liberals, but I hope whoever they find to replace Trudeau can at least keep Pierre Poilievre from winning a majority government.

Im going to make my prediction now, at least three months before another confidence vote in Parliament and a new election after that. I think the Liberals are facing extinction levels of disdain. In 1984 they were down to 40 seats when Mulroney won 211. In 2011 they were down to 34 seats when Harper won 166. I think this next election they will be down to 20 seats or less. Both the Liberals and the NDP are going to regret hanging on to power long after their Best Before date had expired.

Seems unlikely in the limited time we have left before the next election. I'm really curious to see what the NDP are going to do with this.
