Things like this was coming. A 10% tariff on the entire world is more than just a taxation on consumers, but simply discouraging people from doing some basic things. And that's not accounting for the whole chaos around it, and the pathetic slapping match with China resulting in... in... whatever the tariff is right now.
It's just so stupid, and it's what happens when you disregard any kind of self-reflection and truth into your ideals, and do everything to stroke your narcissistic ego. And it's just the start, as haven't even reached day number 100 yet from the second Trump admin.
It might be "just the start," but another possible scenario is that they will reach a high-water mark. Nothing is normal about this presidency, but the first hundred days of a presidency is...

Not unlikely. If anything I'm amazed things haven't imploded yet - though that's mostly due to the US economy being robust. Most countries would have capsized already.
Suppose the resistance will increase though, the effects are impossible to predict. The situation is unprecedented both in US history, and I'd argue world history too - given how technology has changed everything and Musk has effectively helped with a coup in a non-military sense.
DHL Express is suspending deliveries to the US worth more than $800 (£603) because of a "significant increase" in red tape at customs following the introduction of Donald Trump's new tariff regime.
The delivery giant said it will temporarily stop shipments from companies in all countries to American consumers on Monday "until further notice".
It added that business-to-business shipments will still go ahead, "though they may also face delays".
Previously, packages worth up to $2,500 could enter the US with minimal paperwork but due to tighter customs checks that came into force alongside Trump's tariffs earlier this month, the threshold has been lowered.

The company said it will still deliver packages worth less than $800, which can be sent to the US with minimal checks.
But the White House is set to clamp down on deliveries under $800 - specifically those sent from China and Hong Kong - on 2 May when it closes a loophole allowing low-value packages to enter the US without incurring any duties.
I knew the whole tariff fiasco was going to screw everything up, but I did not anticipate a major shipping firm simply throwing in the towel and saying 'nope, screw that, we're out'. It makes...

It makes sense though. Especially eliminating De Minimis - this adds a huge labor cost overhead to all shipping services while at the same time screwing over any capacity for those services to make delivery deadline guarantees.
I've mentioned this possibility before, and now I'm a tad more serious about it: we may be looking at a global trade situation that becomes united in excluding the USA from a great deal of trade, in spite of the huge market that the USA represents. Massive day-to-day uncertainty and chaos is not a good basis for the confidence required for stable markets.
