    I'll be the first to admit that I don't have a political memory for the 90's, but would a Perot victory pretty much have forced him to take a side or be locked out since he's had no friends in congress and both teams are determined to not go gentle into that good night just yet? More interesting is the idea that...

    • The vote isn't thrown to the Supreme Court in 2000, so the progressive movement is less willing to bunk with the Democrats as third parties have been proven to be successful.
    • The shuffling of ideologies split across three potential tribes, Republicans free to chase the hard right, while Democrats try to peace keep with the other factions, maybe there's a fourth if the progressives have enough of there's something new in direct opposition to the Reform party.
    • Media gets self reflective about their influence on an election before doing the same damn thing four years later.

    So I guess if Perot wins, does anything really change except what's happening now happened sooner?
