Your resident Carolina fan here,
I actually didn't get to watch the game. I went apple picking with my wife. On the way back, we hit a pothole and I blew out a tire and my car is at the dealership, waiting for a replacement. This meant that I completely missed the game, but I don't feel like I missed much.
I knew nothing good was going to happen the second Bryce was not cleared to go. Dalton was good, but he's been riding the backup seat for quite some time and now he's just a shadow of his former self. Watching the
highlightsrecordings, I think we need to look for a new backup. Not the end of the world, but something we will need to do next year.Actually, I'm not upset about the team losing. We weren't favored to win, even if Bryce was good to go. I'm more upset about the fans. One of the few reasons I go to Reddit anymore is news on stuff I like (Like the NFL) and the Panthers fans this year have been insufferable. We've been bad for a few years now, but they can't ever be satisfied when we have a year where we are showing measurable improvement. They act shocked when we get run over by an SB caliber team that had two weeks to watch tape on us and devise a game plan. The Bills are incredibly strong off the bye these last few years and they came in on a 2 game losing streak (including an embarrassing loss to the Falcons). Yeah, this put this totally in the Ralph "I'm in danger" meme, but apparently I'm the only one who saw it coming?
Anyways, Next week we play against the (currently) best team in the NFC in the Packers. I already know we are likely losing this game, I just want it to be competitive.
This week was a bit of a dud, except for two or three games. My Broncos continue their reign of terror over the Cowboys. I've been watching for 28 years and I've never seen them lose to the Cowboys. Thanks, Hank Scorpio!
Last week, I forgot to post some of the latest in the Bill Belichick legacy watch. What a clip. I sided with Belichick in the divorce so it's been pretty tough to watch.
Good win by the Pats this week.
I really enjoyed the Steelers / Green Bay game. The refs talked up the jersey swap so much. And then Love was going around with his uniform on for quite some time after the game (I never really watch post game stuff) such that I wondered if maybe Rodgers had slighted Love? Or if Love was making a point of slighting Rodgers? Dunno. But I enjoyed the cat and mouse for a while then. Was odd to see the Steelers melt a bit. It was a good game!
