This was an insanely fun final week, with many of the teams and seeds coming down to the final few games of the season.

So fucking excited the Marlins are in. It’s been hell the past ~couple decades (I’ve literally tried to change fandoms, but instead just led to less baseball), and so to see the team finally being competently ran and seeing the owner actually spend money at the deadline really has me excited

I don’t think they’ll make it far, especially with the injuries to Sandy and Eury. But was the first year I really enjoyed watching baseball in at least a decade.

And I think this off-season is one of the most important in franchise history. Fans are finally poking their heads up again, still weary from the Loria years. If ownership shows they’ll buy in, I definitely believe fans will follow. You can make all the attendance jokes you want, Loria was not someone that should be supported. I really think baseball should be better about replacing bad owners…but since the owners own baseball that’ll never happen.

But yeah, I still haven’t fully bought into Sherman yet but if they really build on this core then I finally will buy into the team again

(Yeah yeah 2020 but the fact that team made the playoffs says a lot about that year. Not to take away from accomplishments that year, but that was a playoff spot earned only off chaos)

It's insane to see the Orioles sitting there with a first seed slot. That AL East division is a meatgrinder, and I'm happy for their fans to see them back in the postseason.

I can't not be a little disappointed by the Rangers not winning just one more game to take the higher seed and the AL West over the Astros... but if you had told me before this season started that...

I can't not be a little disappointed by the Rangers not winning just one more game to take the higher seed and the AL West over the Astros... but if you had told me before this season started that the Rangers would be a 90 win team that made it to the playoffs I'd be thrilled. I'm really looking forward to both AL wild card series, and am just happy to have a little more baseball to watch this year - I don't have to start my countdown until the first game of spring training right away for the first time in a while :)
