well, I'm definitely not the best for this, to be honest. It seems to simple on the surface --- and it kind of is, but then you incorporate all of the background stuff like signals, different signals if there's a man on second base (since he can see the signals the catcher is giving), etc etc.
If you haven't already, check out Moneyball -- and if you like that, then check out the book. ESPN 30-for-30 has a lot of episodes re: baseball, too, that are worth getting into.
As for the actual sport itself, I find it a little boring... but I love stats and I love the bigger stories like this stuff.
