    I am fairly new to baseball and MLB history so I have never heard this story. It is so improbable and touching that it sounds more like something out of a movie than a true story. This one hit close to home for me since I have my own history of substance abuse and a strong bond with my father that was formed by watching sports together. I got a little misty near the end.
