Durant is one of the most original figures in the history of the NBA. If you've ever seen Seven Samurai or even The Magnificent Seven, he is that member of the team who is so dedicated to the sword (or gun) that all other concerns fall away. He is the ultimate weapon, solely dedicated to the craft.

In a team sport that is problematic, of course, and over the years it has revealed that you can't be the ultimate basketball player and a lone wolf. I identify with KD very much. After my own few brushes with the public eye I couldn't imagine the scrutiny and venom he gets on a daily basis. It twists you, even as you try so hard not to let it.

We had him here with the Warriors for three seasons. In my 50 years of watching this sport, that was the most beautiful basketball I've ever seen. I miss him.

Houston will be formidable with KD. He is still playing strong, even after the injuries. The Rockets gave up nothing and may yet bring in someone else, like Jrue or Deebo. And they got rid of their heel in Dillon Brooks. They might even be likable again for the first time since the Yao Ming days. (And yes, saying this, I understand that Warriors fans have no standing on likability after riding with Draymond for so long.)

I have to be honest the Suns seem like the definite losers in this trade. KD is old, but still puts up good numbers so it'll remain to be seen if he can boost the young Rockets' offense.

They were gonna be on the losing end of any trade or even if there were no trade at all. The trade for Beal left them with almost no options and no leverage. They can't trade Booker because of his relationship to the franchise and fans, they can't win with Durant, Booker and Beal and because they tried to secretly trade Durant last season they helped create a rift between the franchise and Durant. They can't trade Beal because he has a no trade clause and doesn't want to move again.

They were doomed as soon as they considered Beal, I still have no idea what they were thinking with that and his NTC, all they can do now I think is wait out his contract.

Glad to have some trade action on a slow nba news day /s Seems like a reasonable move for all involved. Hopefully KD is healthy enough to help this Rockets team take the next step.
