It seems to me that kneeling during the national anthem is closer to supporting Confederacy than not supporting it. The United States fought to stay united, against the Confederate States, in the Civil War. The United States won that war and we kept our flag, which we salute when we sing the national anthem.
This is a case of college students not understanding what they're doing.
