I can relate to this big time. I used to live in a rural area where I'd have to drive 20 minutes in order to get anything useful except for food. Now I live close to everything, including a great library, and I do feel more of a kinship with my community. I will also say that riding the bus adds to that feeling as well. Seeing the same people every day on the bus has given me more empathy with my fellow man. Even if I never talk to them because it's a commuter bus and shutting the hell up is an unwritten rule!

I'm sure that if I played it more I could figure stuff out, but a nice PDF manual would go a long ways. Have they ever decided to start including one? I know that it gets updated a lot, but last time I checked players were left to discover this stuff on their own and I never discovered it. I'm not one to consult the Internet to figure out how to do stuff, which it seems like Minecraft expects you to do.

I finally got around to sinking some decent time into it over the last couple of days. I'm addicted. It's fun to go up against so many competitors and watch as people get knocked out of the competition over time. Not to mention, it's frickin' Tetris so of course it's great! I'm really looking forward to the special event that Nintendo's running this weekend. You can earn an old-school Gameboy theme!

I finally got the money and urge to pick up Prince's 3 CD set The Hits/The B-Sides and I've been listening to that on shuffle. It's great, of course. I do need to be fast with the skip button when my son and I listen in the car, because it earns its parental advisory sticker. Most of the songs are fine for kids though.

One thing that I will recommend, if you choose to go with LastPass, is to export your encrypted passwords from time to time. Export it to CSV and print out or save that CSV in some secure location. You never know when a calamity might hit and you need to log into an account from a weird place.

So, I came here fully intending to recommend LastPass but then you wrote that it's not able to fill in passwords for apps that you use. That's weird. I run Mac OS X (prior version to the current one because my old-ass computer can't handle the new stuff), OpenBSD, and I have an iPhone XR. LastPass can fill in passwords on these things. I'm going to assume the non-filling has to do with your iPhone 5. I think upgrading your phone would indeed help. This might sound like gloating but I assure you it's just me being a big fan- Face ID & LastPass is the best thing since ball-less mice for me. My creds fill in fast and automatically.

There's a command-line client for LastPass which can be used for console stuff on OpenBSD. Of course, for most stuff you're using a browser and the standard technique works fine there.

So, I guess this might not be useful to you but I'm sort of writing it to other people also. Don't write off LastPass. I love this program and it revolutionized my password/security woes.

I played a lot of O.G. World of Warcraft. It was pretty fun at the time, but I wonder how popular it will end up being? My life's a lot different than it was when I had time to devote to a game with a monthly fee. If there's a free month trial I might give it a shot. I'm sure there are some people who will be all over this, though. I've gotta say, it was a good game even though I got disillusioned with it eventually.

I'd do that if it was just me, but I am not interested in troubleshooting every time something gets inadvertantly blocked for my wife. It'd be too much of a pain in the ass. I just use very few apps instead, no Microsoft, no Google, no Amazon. I try and stay away from the big data gobblers. I do use Apple stuff but their telemetry is minimal (unless they're doing stuff that they aren't making public, but I've got to draw the paranoia line somewhere.)

I wish I was able to realize that more people liked me than I gave myself credit for. There were so many times, looking back, where a girl was into me but my oblivious self didn't realize it. What an idiot I was. I think it was because I was a goofy looking kid who wasn't that outgoing. Nobody was interested in me then, so I figured nobody ever would be. Turns out as I got older, I got better at being social (though I still suck at it) and grew into my own body. Ah well, the past is the past. Make today good, don't worry about stuff that can't change.

I would be, if I hadn't gotten worn down from years of programs somehow forgetting that I turned off the telemetry and now it is back on for some reason.
