Royksopp - Remind Me
Primus - Wynona's Big Brown Beaver
Aphex Twin - Come To DaddyI'll add more when I think of them. I'm a middle-aged guy so these will lean heavily toward '90s MTV era since that's when I watched a lot of music videos. Great idea for a post, though! I can't wait to watch some excellent music videos.

Also, because it is very similar to ed which friggin' BETTER be on the computers I SSH into because it's the standard Unix editor. I don't like dicking around with super-complex config files because then I'd get dependent on them. I stick with what works.
I've never encountered any of the bugs that vim supposedly fixes over vi, so that's why my answer is not vim.

I remember one time I saw an infomercial designed specifically for people who wanted to cheat on their spouses. This was pre-Ashley Madison and it blew my mind. The nerve! I only saw that infomercial once but that was enough for it to keep a little spot in my memory.

Comment on One Year Off, Every Seven Years: How about this for a demand? You work for six years and you get a whole paid year off to do whatever the hell you want. in ~life

If you're going to suggest an idea that radical, I'd like to see a lot more substance about how it would work. I'm particularly skeptical about how it would work for small business owners with few employees. That seventh year would be rough. And what's to stop people from getting laid off in years five or six? It seems like businesses would be encouraged to get rid of their dead weight early.

I'm having a blast with the Sims 4, so it's no big deal! I haven't played since Sims 1 and I'm glad to see that the people don't pee their pants as often. It was a bit out of hand on the original game.

Comment on Washington becomes first US state to legalise human composting in ~life
mbc Here's the theme song to this: "Human Composting" by Gay Witch Abortion! Here's the theme song to this: "Human Composting" by Gay Witch Abortion!
I host my own e-mail from my house. I have a static IP address from my ISP (they will give you one for free if you ask) and I use port forwarding from my router to point the important ports to my Soekris server. It's a little box that runs an AMD Geode CPU and boots off an SD card. No muss, no fuss. For an OS, I use OpenBSD because it's lightweight and easy to maintain. I used to use Linux, but the mish-mash nature of the GNU ecosystem is not for me.
I would also recommend getting an IPv6 tunnel from Hurricane Electric. It won't fully eliminate the headaches of NAT for you, but it'll help quite a bit.
