September Sumo Basho Discussion

With the next basho fast approaching I was curious about what everyone is looking forward to and excited about.

I'm hoping for a full house of the senior sanyaku rikishi (maybe Terunofuji's knees will be ready for action) and we can see some exciting matches between them. I'm also still trying to decide on new favorites after Ichinojo and Tochinoshin both retired.

I feel like expert is writing a check I can't cash, but I thank you for thinking of my so highly. I just know enough to have mostly informed opinions on a sport in which I don't participate that...

I feel like expert is writing a check I can't cash, but I thank you for thinking of my so highly. I just know enough to have mostly informed opinions on a sport in which I don't participate that largely occurs in a language I do not speak.

I saw that the new banzuke dropped today/yesterday, so I'll check that out and chime in a little later after I've caught up on news.

@pekt, also missing the big guys now that they're both gone. Tochi I expected for awhile and I hope Ichi gets the help he needs.

Oh my.. there's so much rikishi I'd love to see score double digit wins!!! First of all, I'd like to see Hoshoryu's success continue. I'm also keeping an eye on the Waka brothers, Ura & Tobizaru!...

First of all, I'd like to see Hoshoryu's success continue. I'm also keeping an eye on the Waka brothers, Ura & Tobizaru! Of course, the younglings Hakuoho and Atamifuji are also on my radar. I can only wish them both a bright and injury-free future!

    Have a great basho y'all :)
