The issue with the Qatar bid is that it's a monarchial nation-state trying to sportwsash. Unlike City's ownership though, Qatar has been inept at running clubs (see PSG).
At this point I'm kind of burnt out on the sale saga and just want the team to make some good signings as soon as possible. United's issue has rarely been a lack of finances (though the Glazers do suck up a lot of that). They keep making poor signings and keep underperforming players for too long.
Even if the Glazers stick around, they’ll have no control over the club. And AIUI the bid buys out the Glazers’ remaining shares in a few years anyway.

But overall I’d rather the club didn’t end up yet another nation backed club. United don’t need that sort of backing to be successful.
I would prefer that any Premiere League club not be sold to nation states who used the club at two launder their image globally.

That's good to hear, I wasn't aware of all the details. I hope there's a final answer soon, but I've been saying that for months now.

It's wild to me to see how effective sport's washing is.

I am with you.. it’s not the option I want, but out of the two, that would be the one I’d pick as well.
