I have a suggestion: After seeing this livery, let's just call them Toro Rosso to stop any confusion. I thought I was gonna call them AlphaTauri, but TR makes way more sense now.

RB, Red Bull’s second Formula 1 team, has revealed the first images of its new car following its rebranding.

The team has been officially entered as ‘Visa Cash App RB’ in reference to its two title sponsors. While the company which runs the team is called Racing Bulls, ‘RB’ does not officially stand for anything.

I was going to make a joke about maybe calling them RasenBallsport like the football team, but since I don't speak German, I looked up exactly what rasen meant and saw that it can mean both 'lawn' and 'race' so now I don't know what to think. Funny coincidence I guess.

But why, 'Visa Cash App RB' rolls off the tongue much more nicely? Snark aside though, is RB how we're supposed to refer to it colloquially?

I guess so? But then articles like this -- RB have 'a point to prove' as Ricciardo sets out team's target for 2024 -- are confusing. This one in particular could probably be read either way at first glance, given the rumors/hopes of DR trying to get back to the senior team. It is from the official F1 site though, so I have to imagine that's what the team is expecting to be called for short.

I don't use "RBR" for Red Bull Racing. I just say use "RB," like many others do. But perhaps we'll all have to change that. I'm not a fan of VCARB or VSCARB (saw that one as well today), either.
