I for one prefer the Superb Owl memes over the Super Bowl, and I am disappointed that the Wikipedia Superb Owl entry now redirects to the Super Bowl entry.

Overall I thought it was a great game. While I was disappointed that Philly lost, there was lots of action throughout, and it was pretty fun to watch.

Making a case for Chiefs-Eagles as the best Super Bowl ever

If you're a Giants fan, you think Super Bowl XLII was the greatest ever. If you're a Niners fan, Super Bowl XXIII. If you love the Broncos, it's XXXII. If you're a Patriots fan, it's Super Bowl XXXVI. Or XXXVIII. Or XXXIX. Or XLIX. Or LI. Or LIII. It could go on for a fan of any winner, with a legitimate argument.

But sorry. This one, Super Bowl LVII, is the greatest ever.

I can't remember my login credentials for ESPN+ and I don't have time to hunt for them right now, so unfortunately I can't read his full justification for this spicy take, but c'mon man. This is some straight up unfiltered NFL propaganda by ESPN. Sure, it was an exciting game, but you can't call it the GOAT when the majority of reactions to the game are people complaining about a ticky tack penalty that ultimately handed the game to the chiefs.

It probably would have been a strong contender for GOAT had the refs done what they had been doing for decades and only call the most clear-cut violations late in the game, but for the second week in a row, a late penalty determined the outcome. It's a problem the NFL has created for itself in it's pursuit for higher scoring games.

        How so?

From one perspective, the call determined the outcome of the game. From another, not calling potentially determines a different outcome. The latter, perhaps being less favorable since a penalty WAS committed, it's just inconvenient for the Eagles.

The overturned fumble was another hugely subjective call that favored the Eagles. I'd argue that call also determined the outcome of the game.
