From the viewpoint of an American it comes across as “football on drugs”, I mean the guy gets tackled but it is not the end of the play, he passes the ball to his teammate; instead of kicking the ball straight to the goal it goes diagonally. Differently from American sports but like soccer there are no interruptions for ad breaks so it is a real aerobic challenge.
But in all the athleticism in competition is really worth watching. My RSS reader (which helped find this article) was telling me a lot about Six Nations but I started really watching the World Cup.

They are playing in France so the time zone situation is similar to watching Premier League football, at 7 am EST Japan is playing Argentina (I've been reading a lot of coverage of the world cup in Japan Times because it turns out rugby is big in Japan) which interests me but I may be slow to get out of bed tomorrow. All the rest of the games are on the weekend, the quarter-finals start next week, the times look pretty easy to catch on the east coast except that most weekends these days I am going to sports games at my Uni and the other college in my town to take pictures because that's my hobby now.

For any Americans looking for a team to back since the USA isn't present, I'd recommend checking out Fiji. A tiny nation punching well above their weight, considering their low funding and few international matches, the Fijians always seem ready to have a good time and pull off some impressive, never-say-die type plays. Well deserved fan favorites anywhere they play.

What time are games typically played? And how often?
