As much as I don't really care, I just can't take any of this seriously. Everything reads like a bad parody. Like an AI was trained on Mother Jones articles and told to make the Alex Jones...

    The Colonialist Origins of Doping

There is no better forum for highlighting the centrality of science in our modern world than elite sports.

Enhanced acknowledges that science has always played a central role in sports. From the Tarahumara tribe to the ancient Greek Olympians, athletes have used performance enhancements to help them reach their full potential for all of recorded history.

Science is real, also Native peoples used plants to gain performance advantages! Jumping straight into the ancient Greeks for examples of solid science. Should've hired an enhanced historian to write that part maybe.

words like ‘enhanced’ and ‘doping’ have negative connotations because of their historical use as discriminatory terms.

These terms have been reclaimed in recent years, and are becoming increasingly used, particularly by younger athletes, as an empowering way of describing oneself.

I feel like I've got a snide comment for everything they write.

I'm not going to line by line the whole website and I've often had the idea myself of just letting people go wild with it but this just seems like... Performative? They're, to quote Randal in Clerks 2, 'taking back' using Steroids to 'empower' themselves?

I don't go to Monster Truck shows to hear about how green they actually are, unless you're taking about Grave Digger's paint job, and the only fitness dudes I know who care about science are talking macros and stuff. Dudes I know who've done roids are just trying to get big.

Being enhanced isn’t a preference or a lifestyle choice.

When we talk about science and being enhanced, we’re not talking about preferences or choices or value judgments. We’re just talking about how people are.

How am I supposed to take this seriously when they say "taking performance enhancing supplements or drugs isn't a choice."

Am I too cynical? Yes. Backed by venture capital and claiming to be safer and better and more inclusive are huge red flags though.

Bill Burr had a bit about this and someone wrote in to tell him about this... I'm excited.

Backed by the world’s top venture capitalists, the Enhanced Games is the Olympics of the future. When 44% of athletes already use performance enhancements, it is time to safely celebrate science.

Sports can be safer without drug testing.

I mean they absolutely won’t be safer, but they may be kind of interesting. I don’t know if I’d say more interesting than non-doped sports (or at least drug tested), but still interesting. I’ll...
