I started having serious doubts with the description of the tournament venue. Based on the description, I felt like that would've been way too many people to keep something like that that big of a secret. Especially in the age of social media.
From the perspective of another clueless American who's only been to Cancun, Mexico may be a lot of things, but that just seems like a huge stretch. Killing losing tournament participants out back in a hail of gunfire, as hundreds of spectators and celebrities are around? Even kids? Like the author's fixer said, "Mexico isn't the Third World." I'd have a hard time believing something like this happening pretty much anywhere, even with all the bad shit that does happen everyday, everywhere.
Honestly, I'd rather see a movie based on this article, instead of a movie based on this guy's alleged story. I think that'd be a much more interesting premise. And then leave it a little more open-ended and up to interpretation.
Wow, that was a journey. Not sure what I gained after all that. For anyone wanting to read it, don't choose the first link, the story is incomplete there; I chose the second.

Heads up to anyone else, the Megalodon link doesn't capture the whole story. At least it didn't show the whole story for me. It ended about 85% through. The other two sites got the whole thing,...

(Glad we're finally starting to find some replacements!)
