It's frustrating being a Dolphins fan seeing them go 10-6 and still not make it to the playoffs. Guess I'll just toss that on the pile of other reasons it's frustrating being a Dolphins fan.

If my backup team (Washington) doesn't pull through, you'll have my support. Us underdogs gotta stick together!

As a browns fan: my momentary happiness of making the playoffs for the first time since 2002 was immediately destroyed by more COVID positive tests. It really feels like at this point we’re going into the game with only half of our starters and half our coaching staff. Hell, our fuckin head coach and offensive coach are out this weekend cus of tests. Which like I’m not mad that they are getting tested, I’m mad they’re testing positive because the NFL did fuck-all to prevent it. Other leagues that play MORE games and play them inside where transmission rates are way higher managed to fuck this up less than you. THE NHL MANAGED TO FUCK THIS IP LESS THAN YOU. HOW DO YOU FUCK UP LESS THAN THE NHL. Ok realistically the fact that the NHL has Canadian teams is probably a reason the NHL had the bubble at all, let alone two and both in Canada.

Basically: we are so fickin fuckin fucked and honestly I’m not even sad. The happiness of qualifying hasnt passed, but giving fans momentary glimmers of hope only to iimmediately have it snuffed out is the Cleveland way (someday I’ll write that thinkpiece about how the browns are a great metaphor for life in Cleveland and that makes for this weird domino effect that make the browns fan base so loyal and get into all my liberal sjw analysis of class but fuck am I too lazy to write that). I’m not even sure I’m really mad. I’m pissed we’re losing bc COVID and we don’t get an opportunity to showcase what our stars can do, but I’m not really mad we’re likely out of the playoffs.

All this negativity said, of course I’ll be watching or listening to the game and be in fight or flight mode all day.

Packers and Kansas City secured the only two byes this year. The first "Super" Wildcard Weekend is coming up with triple headers both Saturday and Sunday. What are people's thoughts? Any big upsets on your radar? Gonna actually watch three football games a day each day?

With my Packers on bye, I might put the games on in the background or on my phone while I'm on my computer or something to kind of check in. But I don't think you'll catch me on the couch watching nine to ten hours of football straight.

I think the Buccaneers have the best chance of making some noise of the wildcard teams on the NFC side. Wouldn't be surprised to see them win this weekend or next. Ravens are an obvious wildcard pick to do some damage on the AFC side, could easily see them in the Super Bowl if the stars align (though the Chiefs did demolish them in the regularly season).

Dream is Packers over the Chiefs after beating the Buccaneers and Seattle or New Orleans along the way. Just the toughest match-ups to prove they truly deserve the title.

Honestly, a pretty good pick for an upset. I think a lot of people are sleeping on the Colts a bit.

I haven't watched a Colts game this year. How is their defense? Would a win scenario for the Colts be an offensive shoot out?

I used to loathe the idea of only one bye instead of two, but now I'm on the opposite side of the fence, in that I think maybe no byes is the best option. I forget the exact statistic, but an overwhelming percentage of Super Bowl participants have had the bye, making it a fast track to the big game. Being a 3 or 4 seed was a kiss of death, as you almost always had to go through the 1 or 2 seed. No byes at all would even the (figurative) playing field a bit; the 1 seed would still have to play the "worst" playoff team, so it's not like there's no advantage, but the bye gives top teams a little too much in my opinion. Regardless, it'll be interesting to see how the schedule plays out this year.

Any big upsets on your radar?

It'll be the Saints' luck that we get pistol-whipped by the Bears.

I can dig that. I'd prefer that to have 14 teams in the playoffs. That's half the league almost. Feel like making the playoffs should be a very big deal. But, I suppose, their thinking is you need to give teams something besides seeding to play for, like a week off. But honestly, I don't know if that's true.

The Bears are a little tougher than they appear, but as soon as they get behind and Mitch actually has to make throws, they are in trouble. With how good the Saints offense is, I don't think you need to worry too much.
