Saturday went to the Oddities & Curiosities Expo too look at [what it says on the tin] and see if there was anything I or my wife, who had to work and was not present, couldn't live without. People watching, one of my favorite pastimes, was fun, lots of casual top hats and people that I'm guessing aren't normally accepted letting their freak flag fly in however they wanted to dress. Extra credit to the young lady with the absolutely phenomenal makeup I can only describe as pastel-goth-corpse-paint and her clearly uncomfortable stereotypically-soccer-mom mother for accompanying her to somewhere she can enjoy herself. The "freak show" was just bad taxidermy or taxidermy of genetic defects, but was only $5. The 1920's style magic show was fun. Most of the vendors had unique items and artwork with only a handful being copies of other vendors (animal skulls mostly).
Afterward I went to my gun guy's house to fix his computer, as I'm his computer guy, since his aging hard drive died and is now replaced by a shiny new SSD. Talked about a little bit of everything, as he's also a good friend.

Sunday was going to be a relaxing day of just working on cars, doing laundry, and grocery shopping, but turned into a rescue mission as friends of ours had car trouble (40 minutes away from me, but 1 mile from my gun guy, I playfully chastised them for not breaking down when I was already in the neighborhood the day before), got them fixed, home, and then we elected to all go out to dinner and grocery shopping together before taking them back home which turned my relaxing day into lots of running around and not getting home until 11pm or so. The cats were upset their dinner was late.

    Today is tattoo day.

That sounds like so much fun! I enjoy renaissance fairs for the same reason. I’m not big into the culture, but I love going as a casual observer and enjoying the food/show.

I (hopefully?) fixed my fridge, and rented an ebike. The emtb was way too much fun, except when I target fixated on a rock and ended upside downhill in briar bushes.

Last weekend I detailed my experimentation with Apple Music’s poorly documented upload feature.

@Weldawadyathink clued me into the (painfully obvious) idea that I could use iTunes to manage my tags instead of another program, and that led to a MASSIVE discovery. Turns out that I can edit the metadata of albums in Apple Music’s streaming library, and Apple Music will respect those edits. To be clear, this is not limited to music I’ve uploaded — it works for all the music in my library, 98% of which comes from Apple Music’s streaming subscription.

This is huge for me, because it means I can finally get rid of all those Deluxe Version and Remaster and Bonus Track Version subtitles that are complete eyesores in my library. I’m diligent about only adding original versions of albums in the first place, but there are some where only the non-standard version is available. I had already trimmed their track lists back to that of the original album, but it always bothered me that I couldn’t trim the album title too. Now I can!

Frustratingly, this is only possible through iTunes. There’s no native way to do it on the iOS Apple Music app, and, also frustrating: iTunes doesn’t run on Linux (or, at least, I couldn’t get it going). Still, I’m thrilled with the result. My streaming library hasn’t been this clean or integrated since Google Play Music was a thing.
