I picked up Kid1 from her first year of university. She's moved in back at home and currently sleeping at 11:30am on a weekday. I'm jealous... and being as quiet as I can so I don't wake her up....

Awww, I bet it’s wonderful to have her back under your roof! And I, too, am jealous of sleeping in until 11:30. I consider myself lucky if I can make it to 6:30 these days. You’re very thoughtful...

When I was her age, my dad would make sure to do things like mow the lawn starting at 8 in the morning on days when I could sleep in. I remember how unimpressed I was with it, so I try to make sure that if any of the kids want to sleep in, they get to sleep in.

Having her home is wonderful. I also enjoyed picking her up at her dorm and meeting some of her friends and getting a peak at what her life is like.

Not to monopolize the thread but I just got this email from Kid3's teacher: So I think that what I'll do is bag off the rest of the day and take my son for ice cream for being a fantastic human.

Not to monopolize the thread but I just got this email from Kid3's teacher:

I just wanted to pass on some information that I was told by another adult in the building today. At recess over the last couple of days, your boys have let a grade 1 student play soccer with them. Due to his special needs at times his takes the ball and runs away with it or gets upset if they don't pass to him every time. However, the adult who is with the younger child told me your boys are sweet, kind and patient with him when this happens. The younger boy has been talking about how the big boys let him play with them in his class.

It makes me very proud to be their teacher and I wanted to pass this information on to you, so you know what fantastic humans you have raised.

So I think that what I'll do is bag off the rest of the day and take my son for ice cream for being a fantastic human.
