What did you do this week (and weekend)?
As part of a weekly series, these topics are a place for users to casually discuss the things they did — or didn't do — during their week. Did you accomplish any goals? Suffer a failure? Do nothing at all? Tell us about it!
Not had the greatest weekend.
As some of you may know, I am a regular when it comes to pub karaoke. I am part of a group chat created by one of the KJs I follow (I'll just call him Gary.) He stepped away from hosting Fridays at a particular pub over a month ago and Lucy (yup, same Lucy who came on to me over a year ago) ended up taking over as the host.
Last night, I went to her karaoke night and rapped Forgot About Dre as my second song (No, I did not say the n-word. That is a massive no-no for me.) The crowd like it, but not the landlord, who was livid and pretty much told her off for allowing me to do a song with swearing. It hadn't come up before when when she was hosting, even though some of the regulars did songs with swear words before, like Creep and Living Next Door To Alice.
Gary told me they only hated people using the c-word. I think he lied to me because he wanted to make Lucy look bad and I feel annoyed with him.
I’ve been out of town for five weeks. I spent almost a month of that in Italy, and the rest of it in the small town I was born in. I got home late Thursday night, and I feel conflicted. I enjoyed the trip, I enjoyed being with my mom, and honestly could see myself living in Italy the rest of my life. But I missed my spouse and friends a great deal and am happy to be home. But OMG our house is a disaster. I’m overwhelmed with how much needs to be done just to be comfortable. I want to be mad at my spouse, but they made me pineapple upside down cake, my favorite.
Had to get new tires on the truck before the snow falls which cost me $1200 and then we went to a "haunted trail" event at a nearby arboretum. It's a big fundraiser for them and pretty cool to see but we waited in line for over an hour and then the crowd was so dense moving through the trail that we could pretty much always see the scares coming as they happened to people in front of us. It was a bit disappointing but still glad we went.
