I didn't watch the video, I just wanted to say that FC5 is one of the few Far Cry games I've actually finished. If the writing in FC5 was dogshit, the writing in FC: New Dawn is raw sewage. And then FC6 I played for several hours and realized I wasn't actually having any fun, just going through the motions, so I uninstalled it and never looked back.

I receive these prepaid visa gift cards, as a gift, once a year and it used to be you could spend it anywhere, online or in person, without any account or setup. About 2-3 years ago I would say that changed and now you need to setup an account to use them online and they ask for an address and other things that I just didn't want to provide, but you can still spend them in person without any setup.

I used to specifically use these cards to game free trials because you could use a card with like $3 to get the trial and then when they tried to bill you after it expired there wouldn't be enough money and it would just auto cancel. I'm going to assume this is part of the reason they now make you set up an account.

I guess what I'm saying is I'm not sure what you're asking for exists anymore, but hopefully I'm wrong.

Yeah, it's just that I'm one of the dozen or so people left on the planet who buys CDs, so to see this deluxe version so soon after I bought the first one was pretty disappointing.

I saw them live this past summer. At first it felt wrong and just incredibly sad, but by the end of the show I was fully convinced that Emily Armstrong is the best person for the job. She absolutely crushed it.

I had the new album before the show, but they played 2 songs that I wasn't familiar with that turned out to be from the deluxe edition. I absolutely abhor albums with multiple versions or tracks exclusive to certain retailers. Unfortunately, one of these tracks, "Up from the Bottom", has become my new favorite, post-Chester, Linkin Park song.

Thanks for this post. It has brought back some good memories. It really was an incredible game.

    Hell yes.

I made a friend in the 7th grade who had it for Dreamcast. Later he got a GameCube and we basically only used it for PSO and Super Smash Melee. We did a fair amount of 4 player co-op which enticed other friends to get GameCubes and pretty soon it seemed like my whole friend group had max level android hunters with musashis and whatnot. I only had a ps1 but it was fine.

Years later in college or maybe after, I found out Blue Burst existed and played it by myself for awhile just for a dose of nostalgia and comfort. Obviously you know the game is incredibly repetitive and I got bored pretty quickly by myself.

I also played PSO2 a fair bit a few years ago when sega first brought it to Xbox, but I only had one friend to play it with and he had never been into the old games and also I just can't stand MMOs since I was like 15.

We must have played thousands of hours on the GameCube and I still have fond memories of that time but I'm not in touch with any of those friends anymore.

Even though it's been several years now since I played Control I kind of did the same thing, bought it and didn't play it for over a year even knowing I was gonna enjoy it. It's a great game, killing enemies by throwing forklifts at them never gets old.

Persona 5 Royal was a near perfect game for me, so I expected to like this one a lot too. I played for a couple hours and just couldn't get into it. I did not enjoy the combat at all. The idea that I was supposed to have to replay battles to learn weaknesses in an already slower-than-necessary turn-based game was just too much for me.

This is complete insanity to me. I mentioned elsewhere in the thread that I just started reading book 12, but I have been reading nothing else for the better part of the year.

A lot of people online talk about skipping books in the middle when it becomes boring but honestly I enjoyed Jordan's writing style so much that I never felt the urge to skip anything, even the less exciting sections tend to have great moments.

I just finished Wheel of Time book 11 on my lunch break yesterday and, thanks to the convenience of ebooks, immediately started on book 12. This is where the original author Robert Jordan passed away and the series was finished by Brandon Sanderson. The difference in writing style was immediately apparent and rather jarring if I'm being honest. And I mean immediately, like first couple pages. I am too invested to quit now but I am somewhat less excited than I was before to finish the series.

Oh man, it was so good. I had seen Halestorm once before nearly 15 years ago, and while I'm not really into their music so much anymore I can't deny that Lzzy Hale has incredible range and being a rockstar appears completely effortless for her. You could tell the whole band was having fun and loves what they do.

I was mostly there to see Lindsey Stirling, with no idea how her stuff would translate to a live show. But it was awesome! She had dancers and props and several outfit changes (for her and the dancers) and she was so full of energy.

The highlight of course was their duet "Shatter Me". It was just as awesome as I expected.

I am thankful to have seen a lot of good shows this year but I'd put this one at a solid number two, just behind Spiritbox.

Best thing I ate this year was breakfast at an unassuming diner in Duluth, MN. My buddy and I were in town to see Halestorm and Lindsey Stirling. The show was amazing, but the next morning left us ravenous. I googled breakfast and chose a place mostly at random.

What I ended up getting was eggs benedict with miso pork belly and gochujang. It was incredible. Unfortunately Duluth is a near 4 hour drive so I probably won't be back for several years.
