Show off your Tasker profiles!

I just bought Tasker and it's a pretty amazing app! I just wanted to ask what your Tilders use for useful Tasker profiles.

    I have it set up to auto-log my work pages when I'm on call.

    I add a calendar item called 'ONCALL' for the whole week that I'm on the roster. When I'm in 'oncall' mode, it will adjust my ringtone, volume, and wallpaper between 10:30 PM and 7:00 AM, to make sure I don't miss any pages.

    During that time, when a text is received from x number, then create an outlook calendar item named "ONCALL - (SUMMARY OF TEXT)".

    Then when I leave home to go in to work (I live two blocks away, so it's easier to just go in than to use my crappy work VPN) it detects my location change, and creates a new calendar item for my time entering work, then another when I leave. I can use these when doing my timesheet, to accurately log my on-call claims.

    I really should look in to having Tasker just edit/update a single calendar item though.

    Shaking my phone toggles my flash light.

    Autovoice allows for custom voice commands, so I have that for some basic functions.

    My fitbit can control media so I have the option to trigger an action from my watch.

    I have an external number pad with actions for the buttons to control brightness, volume, etc.

    I got a new phone fairly recently, and I haven't set up Tasker yet (although I don't know if I'll actually bother tbh), but I used to have a profile set up to do a kind of crude rate-limiting of notification sounds – I get really irritated when my phone starts making loads of noise, so I wanted to set it up so that it would just shut up for a few minutes after a notification.

    As far as I remember there's no good way to tell if a notification actually made a noise, hence me not being in any particular rush to set it up again, but IIRC it triggered on any notification, then put the phone in DnD "alarms only" mode, waited for a couple of minutes, then put it back in whatever DnD mode it was in before.

      On notification event >>

      If (Normal sound mode is on) Then {
      Set sound mode to silent
      Wait desired time
      Set sound mode to normal
      }

    Ability to interact with my car's API.
    When I get to my hotel, open the app - because that's my room's key.
    Airline apps will turn off rotation and the screen will stay on (for the scan).

      Tell me more about this. You’ve solved some minor annoyances I deal with a lot in my car, but I’ve never used Tasker before.

        I have Viper installed on my car as an aftermarket. I'm able to interact with their API, which is fairly well documented by people who tinkered... and now when I unplug from the car it sends and HTTP GET twice, once of a session, another with a command... and the car locks (I have a 30 second delay).

        Its stuff like that. But what I know about is the HTTP stuff I did, and Viper. If you have Viper, I can comment more.

    My only profile simply messages my girlfriend when my battery reaches 10%. It's handy.

    I created a tasker script to automatically press "accept" on the Duo "Two Factor" Authentication that I'm forced to use. It's saved me a lot of time and headache.
