What did you do this week?
As part of a weekly series, these topics are a place for users to casually discuss the things they did — or didn't do — during their week. Did you accomplish any goals? Suffer a failure? Do nothing at all? Tell us about it!
I struggled with depression this week. I'm feeling better /right now/, though, so hopefully I'll be better next week!
Went to take a look at a solar eclipse that happened in South America and was partial where I lived. It was a pretty neat sight, but since the sun was only 30% covered, it wasn't much.
I was somewhat hesitant to go out and see it beyond some moderately funky shadows from a nearby tree given it wasn't partial enough to... look at the sun, but my mother wanted me to see it and she told me to use an X-ray lying around so I decided to go take a look.
...still, I'll have to ask her for proper protection (eclipse glasses) next time, given the extreme awkwardness of looking at the sun through an X-ray in a street that people use and the fact that it still took some cloud cover for the sun to not be too bright next time.
I also put more lighting on the Christmas tree here.
I signed a job offer..!
Several weeks ago, I was struggling to cope with the uncertainty of the job search process. And then... one kind soul from Tildes reached out to help... one former colleague wrote in and another... his friend contacted about a few positions... while these didn't directly lead to the offer I got, I'm grateful for the web of support that I've received.
