Long weekend and all that. Started with sending my wife off to visit family on the east coast Wednesday morning at 5am, elected to treat myself for being up that early by making a croissant and canelé stop at a local French bakery, then worked for the rest of the day.

Thursday had father, sister, and a couple of friends over for a lunch of steak, mushroom and onion bread pudding, roasted brussel sprouts, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Spent the evening cuddled with my dog on the couch, reading and drinking bourbon.

Friday picked up the wife from the airport, ran errands, went to dinner, and arrived home to find this book sitting on my front porch. That book is known as a Toyota Factory Service/Repair Manual, it's the book given to dealers, and sold to independent mechanics through the dealer, so they know how to repair your car in the before times. The note inside is from a man named Israel that was riding his motorcycle by on Friday, saw my Tercel out back and went home to get the repair manual, write the note, and pass it on to me. He had a very nice 1983 Tercel for a time before trading it to someone else for an equally nice 1968 Toyota Corona. We talked on the phone a bit on Saturday and texted more later. Loose plans to hang out once the Tercel is up and running have been made and he has an invitation to drop by if he sees me outside working on any of my cars. Nice guy.

Saturday and Sunday were cold and wet around here, so no work on the Tercel was done making my non-committal Timasomo final weekend a bust.

I did my networking project for school. I had to design a home network which is pretty tough if you're talking about buying everything for FTTH, as most people who write about consumer hardware don't seem to know the difference between a modem and a combo device when making their listicles. The hard part was, honestly, finding the ONU to connect to the router and connect the home network to the ISP. Of course if I had actually read the relevant chapter thoroughly I would've known to find an ONU.

Otherwise I slept too late, and chipped away at various other school projects, like my System Design and Analytics projects.
