      I'm sure it'll be done one day, but the sets of muscles around the mouth are tiny, very complex, and we're all incredibly familiar with them and how they look in operation. The point where we could lip read a robot's words (and that's essentially what would be needed to clear the uncanny valley) is certainly nowhere near where we are right now.

      It seems to me that the real skill shown here isn't in the robot, which moved fairly clumsily, but in the 3d scanning of Tom's head and the artist that painted his face and implanted his hair. And none of that is cutting edge.
