Huh. That's interesting. I realise what kind of video hosting they are going for but does anyone think they could go in YouTube's direction next? I don't know how realistic it is to assume that this could be an upcoming rival, but people have been looking for a way off YouTube for a while now. I wonder if this could possibly be it.
What we really need is for MindGeek to open up a new site so people wont notice is tied to PornHub because, lets be real, "PornHub's new video platform" isn't gonna be what takes off.

People will have to be so fed up with using it (and posting to it) and even then it’ll be a while before we see something else have a chance. Hopefully imgur can do it without some of the things that has given them a bad rap (like some of their API pricing changes)
Oh no absolutely. I agree that this move in itself has nothing to do with competing with YT I’m just wondering if it could be a move in that direction, you know? But yea imgur would have to become...

But yea imgur would have to become absolutely huge to pull off something like that. Well that and YT would have to piss off the creators entirely which, judging by how it’s been going, is only a matter of time.
I feel like YouTube's downfall will not be pissing off viewers, but pushing away all content creators that make anything quality so that the only thing left on their platform is reaction videos...
I feel like YouTube's downfall will not be pissing off viewers, but pushing away all content creators that make anything quality so that the only thing left on their platform is reaction videos and vlogs. When the content that has any weight leaves, a large user-base will leave and the platform will begin to be taken less seriously.

I'm still waiting for them to fix the bugs with their Video to GIF tool and increase the max time it allows from 15 to 60 seconds.
