I like to keep my digital collection well organised but you sound like you may know more than a few things about organising media and I'd love to know if there's anything specific that you would emphasize! I only have around 4-5 Terabytes of data but I'd love to start early and make sure everything's neat and tidy.

I've been getting back into anime after a bit of a break. I'm usually the kind of person to watch at least a few shows each season so it sort of kept piling up.

Sora yori mo Tooi Basho is a pretty wholesome and sweet slice of life anime about 4 girls making their way to Antarctica. Each character sort of gets their own arc so it's not completely in the "cute girls doing cute things" category, it also tries to tell a heart-wrenching story. I'd say if you're a person to enjoy SoL and/or Drama, do definitely give it a shot. If anything it's definitely worth your time.

Devilman Crybaby. Oof this was incredible. I'm a sucker for Masaaki's work (Tatami Galaxy, Ping Pong the Animation etc.) and going into the show I didn't even know he had anything to do with it. It looks like Netflix gave him the freedom to make something fantastic, nonsensical, extremely violent and at the same time sort of meaningful? I think the show could have used a couple more episodes (seeing as it only had 10) but if anyone was going to pull off a good 10 episode show it would be Masaaki, so it might just be his fast paced delivery style that had that effect. I would wholeheartedly recommend the anime to anyone.

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online. Not much to say tbh, it's an ok show especially if you're a fan of SAO in the first place. Has a few plotpoints that make zero sense but otherwise a pretty dynamic and enjoyable watching experience. Just don't expect too much.

Megalo Box was incredible. A quick disclaimer for people who might be going into it blind like I was. The whole show is downscaled to what seems to be around 480p to give it that "old anime feel". A weird decision on the creators' part to draw high-res and then downscale but I will go ahead and agree with others that you do get used to it pretty quickly and it gives the show that extra bit of "charm". The show is about boxing in a cyberpunk-esque future. It's fast paced, no-filler, straight to the point, violent, has a great cast of MCs and tells some great stories. One of the better endings I've seen in anime as well.

That's all for now but I've kind of been on a binge for the past week so I might come back later to add a thing or two :^)

Oooh, not a lot of new shows, fun!

    • Because you liked Nodame Cantabile, which is a terrific show btw, I can safely recommend You Lie in April which, as if to show how thematically close it is, has direct references to Nodame in it. I absolutely adore classical music and music related anime in general so I'd recommend Sakamichi no Apollon, Hibike! Euphonium, Detroit Metal City and Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda. as well.

    • Not sure if you've seen Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood but from what I've read people hold it in much higher regard than the original that you have on your list.

    • A lot of the shows that you have on the list I don't really know too much about, unfortunately but here are some recommendations because it looks like you enjoy the Slice of Life, Romcom kinda titles. Barakamon, Toradora!, Non Non Byori and Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou

Quite a simple concept I've seen done on a multitude of anime forums and communities that I feel would fin in great on Tildes. I'm very excited ~anime is finally a thing and we can start filling it with more casual topics and get to know the fellow weeb Tildoos better.

So the idea is pretty straight forward. You create a new comment branch by posting a link to your Anime List (be it MAL, Kitsune, AL or whatever else) and people who are interested are going to look through it and try to recommend something you might enjoy but haven't seen yet. The hope is, people who get replies on their posts can sort of "pay it forward" and reply to some of the other comments.

But more than anything else, let's have some fun with this. I'm relatively free today so I'll try to look through as many as I can! :)

Hard for me to judge since I mainly play Healer for the most part. I can think of a couple in very high M+ but I don't think there are that many in raiding no. In Antorus literally almost every encounter has a Tank "stack swapping" mechanic which I found to be kinda dull more than anything.

But yeah it's sad that they are lowering skill cap. I don't see why they'd need to since surely they can find a way to lower the barrier to entry without sacrificing advanced mechanics but I guess that's too much to ask. Sort of makes sense when they are attempting to balance the game around the larger percent of the population who aren't exactly going to be looking for a challenge. The most recent example of this that kinda bothers me is the fact that, at least for now, you wont be allowed to swap gear mid M+ run. Which, unless they have a good reason for it, I don't think there's an official explanation, is absolutely mind-numbing. The only people who switched gear mid run in the first place were the players that pushed extremely high keys since at mid-high keys if you have enough ilvl your gear or legendaries weren't even an issue. I can't think of a legitimate reason for the change to save my life. Hopefully someone can, and this is not just some random out-of-the-blue lets-fuck-shit-up change.

Absolutely! As a healer I like not relying on another person to keep people alive while my cooldowns are down. I know if someone died from underhealing it's my fault and most of the time I will know exactly what I did wrong and how to fix it. Makes it that much easier to improve.

And yea Tank balancing throughout Legion, and now still tbh, was a fucking joke. They couldn't properly balance tanks out so they just obliterated Guardians to the point they went from BiS to complete garbage in one patch (in M+ at least, with all the magical damage). And now from what I understand they are taking away all the magic damage reduction abilities from all of the tanks, which seems like a "oh we're done balancing this shit, just make all the defensives do the same thing" type of approach. You probably know more than I do about it though, is that what's happening?

Also, I just read a bit ago that they are cutting down Tanks’ agro by like 70% which pretty much throws us back to the way it used to be a while back. You think that’s a good thing? I feel like that’s going to make tanking a bit more fun again.

Oh I am right there with you, buddy. I can relate 100%. Fortunately, I'm in a place in my life where I have time to sink into WoW, but I can recognise how unhealthy it actually gets once I get invested into the game again. It feels great in the moment but it ruins any of my attempts to do anything else. MMOs and especially the well done ones are designed to keep you playing, so there's no shame in admitting it works on us a bit better than it might on other people.

Whatever you're doing now, I'm sure it's better for you especially in the long run, than WoW could ever be. Keep it up, buddy :)

I can get behind what you're saying. They did a lot of things right with Legion but they also did a lot of things wrong. And alt treatment definitely wasn't one of the right ones. I realise they tried to pad the existing content a bit to increase the play times for people to get them to sub for longer, I mean that's literally their business model, can't antagonise them too much for that, but it killed any desire to keep up with the game on any of my alts. And for a person like yourself I imagine in an environment where you had to have multiple geared ready-to-go alts, it must have been a nightmare.

If it's not a huge secret, what role/class did you play? I play a healer myself so I'd love to talk state of the game with someone this high up in the PvE ladder :)

There should be a bunch of new ways to PvP and new rewards and stuff so I'd say read up on some of they stuff they are doing for BfA. Oh if that's original content, I might have been too quick to call it low-effort, apologies.

The problem with link only (especially image only) posts is that it's hard to have people start a conversation if there's no text accompanying it. The image in itself probably isn't going to cause people to comment discussing "television tropes", I think. But that's just my take on it, I might be wrong, can't speak for everyone.

The problem is, even with the website being as small as it is, there are still people who'll upvote this apparently. And the larger we grow the more this is going to become a problem, because not everyone coming in will be down to play by Tildes' rules. Especially if we open the sign-up floodgates.
