This is absolutely awesome news!!!
I really don't like or trust any of the various translation extensions I have tried for Firefox (and I have tried a lot), since IMO they're all super clunky, require very broad permissions, and many are also kind of shady. But in-browser translation is one of the major things I miss most about Chrome now that I use Firefox instead. So here's hoping that despite this being done on-device, instead of relying on a service like google translate, the translations will be just as good (or at least serviceable).
Edit: I wish it had translation for selected text via the context menu, instead of only whole page translation via the address bar button. :( And sadly, it doesn't look like there is a feature request for that in their Github issues yet either, so I will probably create one tomorrow when I get the chance.

I've been using this since it came out and it's amazing. I'd have to go through Google Translate to help me navigate foreign websites which wasn't the best choice and it was generally quite limited, like not being able to use the login feature which means it's pretty much useless on private websites. But this is a game changer!
