What cool online services should I sign up for while I have a burner phone?
I have a burner phone for the next month.
(Lately a number of services refuse to accept my google voice number, and I refuse to share my actual number.)
Are there any cool services I should try out that maybe require a phone number to sign up?
OpenAI: I signed up for $18 free credits at OpenAI. That thing is freakishly good at answering questions, surprisingly good at writing Seinfeld scenes, and mostly terrible at making jokes up.
I am waitlisted at DALL-E.... Sigh.

In terms of content, it's mostly links to websites, resist memes & cheap shots at political opponents. A lot of the jabs at political opponents are degrading.
Gavin Newson has an account that posts occasional links, so it's not all one sided. A lot of the anti-trump content is meme stuff.
Trump posted a statement about Margo Largo being searched by the FBI. The BBC covers the highlights here. So any interesting content seems to be echoed on the regular news media.
In terms of a social media service, the service is fast.
By default you only see content from people you subscribe to, and the default suggestions did not include Trump. Which is weird. He is the only one who seems to post meaningful content.
You can search all posts to see content from people you don't subscribe to, which is a total shit show. Michelle Obama is a man. Trump is Guilty. Jokes about the content of Trumps safe. Breathing bacteria makes me safe. Resist the Satanic Agenda. A jab at republicans being a pedos (Gaetz). Resist. Resist Communism. Elites are parasites. A joke about Biden farting. A joke about Biden crashing his bike. Resist. Jail Fauci. Ridicule of Kamala. lockdowns & masks = abuse. OK. Enough of that, it's making me feel ill.

Pretty much any social media or cloud service platform that requires a phone number these days which is probably the majority of them unfortunately - take advantage of it while you can for the ones you don't want to be associated with your main account/email address. Just make sure the platform doesn't enforce SMS-based 2FA otherwise you'll be SOL as soon as you lose access to the number, opt for a solution like Authy or Aegis + some form of encrypted cloud sync instead.
Just off the top of my head, things like cloud storage are always handy to have extra quota for so definitely try the more generous free-tier ones like Mega and Google Drive. In theory you could also create another Google account entirely for a different set of all their services including a new Voice number :P
