Thought this was cool. Very specific person that this is for. I'm an SLS user here and excited to see this personally. The long list for the SP9s are great as well.

That is a good step forward, but are they still unserviceable without basically breaking the screen or chasis? I have one of the nicer surface pro 4 models that I loved and daily used for years....

I have one of the nicer surface pro 4 models that I loved and daily used for years. Only thing wrong with it now is the battery is shot after all this time, dies even when turned off. I remember looking into a replacment batter and/or service to replace it but no one did it and doing so would damage the frame or glass. Sending to Microsoft themselves, they'd just replace it with a refurbished one from what I read.
You could say I got my money's worth and you'd be right, but I cannot afford a new one, and it feels so wrong to replace when it is still functional in everyway other than the mobile aspect.
Finally... need to replace a power switch in one I have kicking around so I can finally turn it off and on again. Very welcome news.

What is sls and sp9?
Surface Laptop Studio (SLS) and Surface Pro 9. Both devices in Microsoft's "Surface" line-up of mostly portable Windows computers.
Ah I slapped my forehead, of course... thanks!
