This company has me very interested, if only based on who is working there. Has anyone been paying attention to them ? Excited to hear more about the Ai Pin ? Let’s talk about it !

Thanks for bringing this product to my awareness. I love the idea of being able to have privacy-focused AI that machine learns and builds a "Second Brain" wearable. That is how I view it as potentially useful to me. I am already using Obsidian and other tools to collect my thoughts, ideas, and solutions via linked notes. Having AI add an audiovisual component in the background would be quite fascinating!

Biggest areas that will make or break it's use in my life:

    • Price
    • Privacy/security/encryption (that's a lot of intrusion if they don't get this absolutely right)

Totally agree with you there. Pretty out there, and a lot of trust will probably be required, but it could be super useful.

Jokes aside, I think the idea of Pin is really fascinating. It being there all the time but not being a physical device like a phone is something I hadn’t really considered before, but I can’t overstate how much I like it. The projecting thing is also really neat, although I wish it could do a little more than just monochrome low res graphics.

I mean, let’s be real, it’s probably not going to replace our phones. We love our visuals far too much for that. But an accessory device like that that can access all my personal data? Like, a smart version of the second brain note taking concept? Sign me up, as long as the privacy policy is strong.

The concept is interesting and the projection could be useful when trying to show multiple people something, but I loathe speaking to Siri/Google in public and I imagine I’m not alone, so I’m not sure how useful this would be for people with similar hangups.

I think it’ll be useful for a small niche of people as I feel the added weight of the pin and/or battery pack and lack of display could be dealbreakers for some. Each time anyone has to fish our their phone to supplement the Ai Pin will be a reminder of its shortcomings and have people second-guessing its utility over a smartphone.

But then again, this does seem “out there” and they certainly have a talented group so I’m secretly rooting for them to come up with a compelling gadget.
