The concept and term of satisficing is relevant here.

Psychologists have identified two categories of decision-makers: maximizers and satisficers. Maximizers strive to make the most informed decisions that will provide them with the maximum benefit, but studies have shown that they often suffer under the pressure of high self-expectations. On the other hand, satisficers use more modest criteria to determine their choices and are satisfied with an option that meets their initial decision-making criteria. An increased range of options does not necessarily lead to higher satisfaction with the outcome of a decision, and maximizing may not lead to better partner selection. Instead, satisficing and appreciating what one has may be a better approach.

Tasks: David Allen’s Getting Things Done (GTD) method. I use Things 3 app, inbox ideas using Apple Reminders (it exports to Things 3)

Ideas and notes: Obsidian. I like to be able to connect ideas through linked thinking, linked notes. Nick Milo’s concept of ACE folder structure (Atlas, Calendar, Efforts) works best for me. Kepano, the username of me of the CEOs of Obsidian, has a great example of how they setup a simple and easy to use Obsidian “vault.”

    Gurl, same.

possess some genuine capacity to monitor and control their own internal states. This doesn’t mean they’re able to do so all the time, or reliably. In fact, most of the time models fail to demonstrate introspection—they’re either unaware of their internal states or unable to report on them coherently

The main apps I’ve found amazing daily use for my health tracking and behavior activation:

    • Gentler Streak: measures heart rate variability (HRV), sleeping heart rate, respiratory rate and sustainable health/fitness path using Apple Watch.
    • WaterMinder: get your daily water intake based on height and some other metrics, can take into account your activity levels to adjust that baseline
