I have no idea why Panasonic decided to compete with Apple (Sony also announced a camera today, but it's a cinema camera), but it's nice to see Panasonic release a photography camera for once (even if it's also a very competent video camera). Despite being the "G9-II", it's more like an increment on the GH5. Seems like a good camera, if a little on the pricier end given how the market is shaking up.
What'll really make or break it will be whether you'll make use of the video, which panasonic has always been good at.
Now to see if Panasonic ever upgrades their rangefinder micro 4/3 cameras.
Fuji announced a new camera as well. https://www.theverge.com/2023/9/12/23868832/fujifilm-fuji-gfx100ii-medium-format-mirrorless-camera-8k-reala-price-specs

If you count the iPhone 15 pro, that'd be 4 cameras announced today, which seems oddly concentrated.
