It seems wasteful — for both fuel and time — being the only car at the intersection waiting for the light to turn green late at night.

There was a power outage in the area a few weeks ago and the lights stopped working — they'd blink red until they were fixed. You're supposed to treat them as stop signs when that happens.

I was able to get home so much faster that night.

That should be the case for all street lights from 10 PM to 6 AM.

Most people are scrolling on their phone until the movie begins. Do the ads even matter in that case? Yeah the time wastage sucks and but if the ads provide revenue to theaters and prevent them from completely dying I'm ok with them.

I went to the theater last week. I put down my phone for trailers that seemed interesting to me and whenever an ad came up I started scrolling Lemmy or Tildes.

I've been relying on The Quantified Scientist's reviews on YouTube for reviews of health/sleep tracking devices. It seems thorough enough for me to not find anything wrong in his testing.

His results were quite different compared to Karpathy's. Apple Watches were the best in heart rate and sleep tracking according to his tests, whereas Oura and Whoop were a step below, but not bad.

I have a Fitbit Sense 2 myself and I'm content with its sleep tracking.

I was having issues with transferring .mkv files to my iPad. This post made me realize I should research the issue, and found that disabling Save media to gallery in the LocalSend iPad app settings does the trick. https://github.com/localsend/localsend/issues/1309#issuecomment-2689784647 Thanks for motivating me to find a solution!

It's on PC Game Pass so I decided to give it a try last month. Was feeling lazy and didn't feel like sitting on my desk so I played it on the couch with a controller. I was fumbling and struggling with the controls and didn't quite enjoy my ~30 minute gaming session, thinking this game just wasn't for me.

Tried it again a few days ago for the heck of it but this time with keyboard and mouse .. and it just clicked with me. I'm able to move with greater precision, I'm not fumbling with the controls - I'm enjoying my experience. Can't wait to play more of it.

Visually, it's stunning. Probably the most photorealistic game I've played so far. More emphasis on story and walking this time - gameplay felt a bit lacking compared to Hellblade I. Also have to agree with another review I read that said the game rushed its ending in the final chapter.

    Completed a few games recently.

    • 20 Small Mazes: Not sure how I came across it, but I'm glad I did. The description "This is a puzzle game with twenty small mazes. They're good mazes, though." perfectly describes it, haha. Love the variety of puzzles. It's free and fairly short so I'd highly suggest giving it a try if you're into puzzles.
    • Little Kitty Big City: This was on my wishlist for so long. You're a little kitty running around in an open world. It's fun roaming around and the writing gives you a good chuckle with all the cat meme references.
    • Cocoon: Wow. The many layers of levels this has is incredible. The art style is mesmerizing. The difficulty of the puzzles was also just right. There's a great sense of satisfaction when you figure out the puzzles. It doesn't handhold you but it also doesn't hang you out to dry.

Roguelike deckbuilder made by Terry Cavanagh of VVVVVV and Super Hexagon fame.

I tried Balatro before this but didn't really get into it. Dicey Dungeons I found easier to get into. Played it 4 hours straight on the first day I gave it a shot. Many more hours to be spent on it.

Completed Sayonara Wild Hearts earlier this week. It's only about an hour or so long till credits roll - longer if you want to 100% it.

Stunning visuals - incredibly pretty game. The soundtrack's nice, though many of the songs sound alike to me.

It has an overwhelmingly positive score on Steam, but for some reason it did not click with me at all. I like that there was variety in the gameplay, but it all just felt odd.

It's quite unusual for me to not like such a highly rated game.
