Interesting - and possibly clever - strategy to make it a model agnostic front end.
Unlike ChatGPT and Bard, Amazon Q is not built on a specific A.I. model. Instead, it uses an Amazon platform known as Bedrock, which connects several A.I. systems together, including Amazon’s own Titan as well as ones developed by Anthropic and Meta.
The name Q is a play on the word “question,” given the chatbot’s conversational nature, Mr. Selipsky said. It is also a play on the character Q in the James Bond novels, who makes stealthy, helpful tools, and on a powerful “Star Trek” figure, he added.

I like the Bond and Star Trek connections, but QAnon has ruined the name for me. Also kinda weird for this to come out so soon after all the OpenAI drama regarding their mysterious Q* project.

Other than Trek Q being kind of a jerk, I don’t mind the Q thing. But I could see some branding and copy issues if the marketing folks don’t think before launching the privacy-focused features:...

But I could see some branding and copy issues if the marketing folks don’t think before launching the privacy-focused features: Qanon - Private, self-hosted, confidentiality compliant instances of Q, by Amazon.
Honestly I adore John de Lancie’s trickster god Q, yeah he’s a jerk but he’s the perfect foil for Picard (Worf too) and he has a sense of humor. But probably not the best namesake for emerging AI...

Imagine how I feel as a Scandinavian seeing Futhark and viking imagery being appropriated by QAnon types who probably don't even have any connection to the Nordics in the first place. Like all...

Like all things they use though, I think we should refuse to let them steal a whole letter from us

It gave me the correct instructions to turn it off which was cool, it seemed pretty fast, it would be handy if I don't know what a feature on the console actually does, but it's super annoying not being able to hide it by default.

To be fair, that really was just that one guy mainly.

I'm assuming that's some kind of bug? This service is something your company would have to opt into for it to work, right?
There's no way on earth I want to give Amazon the ability to access trade secrets.
