    Oof, 13 years ago. Moore's law is comfortably dead, TV panels themselves aren't seeing meaningfully improvements for the average consumer, and yet I don't think product lifecycles have appreciably...

Moore's law is comfortably dead, TV panels themselves aren't seeing meaningfully improvements for the average consumer, and yet I don't think product lifecycles have appreciably increased. And we didn't manage to get any takeback laws implemented in the US in the meantime. They sound like a great idea that naturally encourage better design, but what would be the drawbacks? Increased cost passed to the consumer?

    I agree with the thesis of this video: Take back laws seems to be a good way to help improve sustainability of electronics industry. However, something about the video rubs me the wrong way....

    I agree with the thesis of this video: Take back laws seems to be a good way to help improve sustainability of electronics industry. However, something about the video rubs me the wrong way. Unable to articulate my precise feelings, but I'm leaning towards the narrative being far too simplistic that its detached from reality
