And in fact…that’s already happened! Just recently, Apple updated their App Review Guidelines to officially allow retro game emulators like Delta — a perfect example of a competitive market at work. To be clear, this never would have happened if it wasn’t for the Digital Markets Act, and proves competition can, in fact, pressure Apple to make the App Store better for everyone.

For all the naysayers, look closely at this example. You don’t have to install and use AltStore PAL. But its very existence (enabled by the EU DMA) has made the App Store better. Let the competition flourish, even if you will never use it. That competition makes the products you use better.
There is a bit of an issue that Delta is not available in the App Store in the EU, and is only available through Alt Store PAL or a sideload, not sure how I feel about that.

That might be an Apple limitation. I’m really not sure. If I understand their DMA compliance plan, apps had to explicitly opt into being distributed through third party stores. If they did, there is no way to ever change it back, and that applies globally. However this was before the complaint session with the EU, and I think their DMA compliance structure has changed since then.
