Just upgraded my OnePlus 8T to it this morning, no real differences noticed or found as of yet. Not surprised as they mention this in the notes, but for a major version change on Android 15 -> 16, you would expect some immediate differences in performance or visual identity, and not have to wait until the visual patch is released by Google in the future.
This reliance on Google and not a purely open source foundation for android stewardship is horrible.
It's good to see they're working on some tooling to streamline the process of bringup up an unsupported device- at some point I need to finish looking into building for the Xperia 1 VII, which is...

Any Lineage users here willing to chime in to compare to GrapheneOS? I use the latter currently and I'm not really looking to switch, but I've read some things about their leadership/CEO that make a me a little uncomfortable* so I'd like to know what my options are just in case.
*Nothing ridiculous like fascism or bigotry, just some... Immaturity and paranoia, I guess? I can go dig up the stuff I saw if needed.

There used to be a great fork of LineageOS called DivestOS which ported a bunch of GrapheneOS features to it, but unfortunately it got shutdown a few years back
I agree that Daniel Micay is sometimes a bit paranoid, but the dude is developing a high-security OS and he's literally been swatted multiple times in the past few years, so I don't really blame him. In general having interacted with him and the rest of the dev team on the GrapheneOS Matrix I can say that they're all pretty nice people outside of the drama with other projects.
Thank you, that's helpful. I'd only incidentally come across LineageOS while researching other things, and it seemed like people were comparing it to GrapheneOS fairly commonly. I know I could...
