OnePlus made me buy my Pixel 3. Anyone else have bad experiences with OnePlus?

This is going to sound like a total rant, but I just don't know what to do anymore. I've been completely screwed by OnePlus and they really just don't care. I bought a OnePlus 6T back at the end of November and received it in early December. It has barely worked for about two weeks since then. The ticket I have open with them is ridiculously long. And then they just went dead silent on me. I assumed I was being ignored. I even got the perma-hold ignore on the phone too. But today OnePlus finally replied after 27 days!! During all this time I just went out and bought a Pixel 3XL and I am tickled pink with it.

If anyone wants a good laugh at my expense you are welcome to read my story on my site read my story on my site.

From the bottom of my heart - be careful spending your money with OnePlus.

I feel sorry that you've had such a bad experience, it's been nothing but success for me and my circle of friends on one plus hardware.

I've used the OnePlus Two and the OnePlus 6. There have been issues with both, but after a few software updates, everything seems to work fine. The only issue I haven't been able to get rid of is the mobile data connection dropping between modes or just completely dropping. Though I've had that issue with other phones a few times so I suspect it's just a ton of people on the cell towers?

Most phones these days have integrated antennas and if they're poorly placed so your hand engulfs those areas it can cause a connection drop. See: iPhone 4 Antennagate

I thought that was the case as well but I've held the phone in varying ways and I've had the issue with two different OnePlus models (but not with the iPhone I've had) so I suspect it's a OnePlus device design issue. Though I guess I should download an app that measures signal strength correctly and properly test my hypothesis ;-)

Really my only issue is that they dropped the audio jack for the 6T and presumably future ones.

I was strongly considering the latest OnePlus model for my next phone (within the next six months or so) and hearing this is making me think twice...of course I'd have done more research anyway,...

I always appreciate posts like this. I file them away in the back of my mind and then when I'm looking at buying something, I go "how many bad things have I heard about this company?"

If it's just one or two things, then I assume the complaints could be the result of a fluke or an individual failure in their service system. But once I start seeing more and more individual anecdotes, then maybe there is a larger problem and that company should be avoided.

My point is, a lot of people hate threads complaining about stuff like this but I think they are extremely useful overall.

Having said that, my wife and I both bought 6Ts last week and haven't had any issues (aside from adjusting to Android after using iOS for eight years).

Oops, didn't even realize that. I was copying and pasting from something else. Fixed.
