Not really, I can just remove one (and I'll remove this one). I can't move comments across or anything though, but it might be a nice thing to add eventually. @Grzmot @Octofox you can copy-paste...

@Grzmot @Octofox you can copy-paste your comments over to the other thread if you want.

Yeah, definitely a feature we need. It's partially done in a merge request, I need to get around to finishing off the last details on it.

A funny article with quite a serious point. Though I think it showcases nicely how Apple's Design has changed after Job's death. The focus shifted from great products with a great, unified design to function following form. The butterfly keyboard is one of the best examples for this: No one asked for it as the laptops are already thin enough, and yet someone at Apple still decided they were necessary to shave another few milimeters off the macbooks. Now they angered a significant part of their customer base and earned a decent amount of bad press for this move.

The touchbar is another example for the same trend. It's innovation for innovation's sake, rather than changing something existing because it is inferior. It's remained an expensive gimmick at best and at worst a real hinderance to people who prefer the function keys being real. As Apple has removed the option to buy a high-powered macbook without a touchbar, you have no option but getting used to it, which is the same thing that happened with the headphone jack on the iPhone.

Years ago I had a fairly high opinion of Apple. They produced expensive stuff, but it just worked. Now it's more expensive, but I don't know if it works any better.

2 people at work got the new macbook keyboard about 3 years apart. Both of them had the keyboard fail. The most recent one was one dev got it at the start of the year and one of the keys failed after only one month of use. They replaced the keyboard and now I see that dev constantly using canned air on it to stop any dust getting on it.
