An exploit has been identified in the current version of Windows 10 that can allow malicious software to be automatically installed on your computer, under the guise of approved Windows updates.

This means that very soon, hackers will be developing tools to be able to take control of and install malicious software with little to nothing that can be done to stop or remove the infected software due to the system believing it is from an approved Windows Update.

Anyone have thoughts on the fact that the NSA appear to be the ones to have discovered this, disclosed this and led to the fix (according to a bunch of news publications)?

Is this a time for conspiracy and assuming they've already installed all the stuff they've wanted, or that they've disclosed this as soon as possible?

I'm surprised this topic hasn't been at the top of all tech-related social media I visit the last couple of days.

Occam's Razor says that they are the National SECURITY Association, and this is a bad enough exploit that even if they were could somehow confirm they were first to find it, hoarding it would mean that someone else could find it and cause a mess of trouble, before they did whatever evil they planned to do. Something like Prism was contained to the NSA and the companies they worked with, this is wild magic and not to be trusted.
