Can we talk about self hosted? Nextcloud talk, jitsi meet, etc
I have a NextCloud instance but have never used Talk. Do you have any experience with it that you could share? I'm curious about NC's Talk now that you mentioned it.
It's basically one of the "apps"/"addons" available for nextcloud, it has some apps for mobile if you want to. It has screen sharing/camera/microphone capabilities, also it supports groups.
I have got some mild success with it, depending on the browser and network connection (specially on restricted networks) it can be a little bit glitchy.
Jitsi meet is more stable and feature rich, but i couldn't self host it myself, maybe i missed some step
Thanks @alexandre9099 for the info! I think I will play with NC Talk a bit now out of more curiosity.
If you are hosting nextcloud there is also collabora office (i think that's what it's called), which allows you to open documents, spreadsheets and presentations online (like google drive does)
It requires you to have a server capable of running docker though https://nextcloud.com/collaboraonline/
Does anyone know if using Discord for business is against their ToS? It's one of the best tools on the market, honestly. Screen sharing, "mute+deaf" mode in rooms, nice hotkeys.
I'm not sure if it's against their ToS but no business should conduct meetings on platforms without some signed and sealed privacy policy and user data agreements.
