Capture-the-flag competitions are wildly underused both for identifying talent and signaling that the hosting company is a clueful employer.
What are "capture-the-flag" competitions in this context?
Thanks for that! It didn't sound like the recruiting article was specific to InfoSec, though. So I guess they just generally means competitions to build stuff related to your business, then?

I guess the software development equivalent of a CTF would be a hackathon, so yes.
