Though to be completely honest, I'm just glad that lenovo's making laptops that are designed to run linux. It feels like so many laptops on the market today are built specifically so that Linux doesn't work on them. So many Asus and Dell models that have broken firmware and need arcane boot flags to get working properly.

I totally agree! I'm curious though, why do you not like Fedora?

With Dell project Sputnik and this, things are looking up. What makes it doubly good is the fact that these projects are a benefit for all *nix users on these hardware platforms since they are working out whatever little problems may occur on their chosen OS and that in turn makes it easier to swap to other OS's.

Totally forgot about Dell's project Sputnik. Yeah, between these efforts from Dell and Lenovo, plus orgs like Pine64, Purism, System 76, etc., it's really a great thing for linux! These orgs are...

Kudos to everyone who've worked hard to make this happen.

This is pretty cool, cooler than Ubuntu on Dell's stuff, to be honest. Fedora has sort of felt more... organic in a sense. I get it's a part of Red Hat, now IBM, but it started as a community...

This is pretty cool, cooler than Ubuntu on Dell's stuff, to be honest. Fedora has sort of felt more... organic in a sense. I get it's a part of Red Hat, now IBM, but it started as a community project rather than being started by a company designed to create it, and it's like Fedora has come of age, in a way.

My one concern is driver shenanigans. But, if this runs Fedora just fine, with Red Hat's legally paranoid policies about proprietary software in Fedora, it should work on any distro no problem.
