So, they want to become a social network for earning travel points? What's next, is Wells Fargo going to introduce a "stories" function for people getting car and house loans? This is just obnoxious.

"Airbnb has been on a long-term mission to increase the stickiness of its platform. The aim is to make it more than a place that you visit once in a while, when you are planning at trip."

"The company is expected also to launch in the coming weeks and months a loyalty program...one potential route it could take is to create a platform where you can make leisure activity and travel purchases through the Airbnb platform to accrue points for discounts on future Airbnb purchases, much like current air miles/points programs."

everything has to be a social media network that has it's own apps. My god damn cable company makes you download their app and tries to set you up with social media style profile. Then they give you your bill via video. I HATE it. I bet you if I ever watched the damn things they'd have adds that play before you even look at the bill. Thank God you can just set up autopay.

They think it builds brand loyalty by making it forcibly latch onto you with as many digital claws as possible. No thank you.

This is how I imagine these decisions are made. facepalm

"How can we build brand loyalty? Oh! I know, let's just lock down our users as much as possible, you know for security! And what if we made them forcibly log in at this particular portal, so we could make sure they know where to login! And we'll use videos because that's newer and it'll bring in millennials! We dont have the budget to maintain it, or really do anything after it's built by our 3rd party contractor in India, but if we get 5000 users active by next month I'll get my raise!"

I'm all for digital bills that won't use paper and aren't shipped from one side of the country to the other, but they are now using the only digital format that would be more wasteful than paper ( kudos to them though, they aren't ( yet ) saving your bills in a Proof-of-work blockchain )

And that's without going into how video is the worst UX for a bill where you first want to glance over it and then drill down on specific parts?

I feel like having stories set on the app in the way they approached it is lacking. They should adapt it so these stories could be saved by the host, and as a way be a new way of setting a review...

They should adapt it so these stories could be saved by the host, and as a way be a new way of setting a review down. Instead of just text and photos, why not show whoever is interested how it really felt to be there.
