Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Google TV (+ Android) have an immense amount of power over these companies, because whether or not one of their boxes features your streaming service is the difference between life and death. You already have Roku playing hard ball with HBO Max, for instance.

Unfortunately, this is just the natural lifecycle of things in the modern world. The silver lining is that it motivates people to develop the next platform or create alternatives (like Tildes).
