    Oh lord, these were bad designs even at the time they were new. Everyone knew people wanted computers to be pocketable before then. By the mid 80s companies like Sharp, Cassio, and Cannon all had pocket computers on the market. One year later we would see the Tandy Zoomer and Apple Newton MessagePad.

    Ironically they were right about having electronic computerized stock keeping tools, but their designs were a lot closer to PDAs (with many of the more popular models being lightly customized PDAs and new ones simply being stock iPhones or iPads).
